Aisha Tyler has worn multiple hats in the world of entertainment as an actor, stand-up comedian, director, and talk show host.

In her latest project The Last Thing He Told Me, the star teams up with Jennifer Garner as they try to find the truth behind a man's mysterious disappearance. Tyler plays Garner's best friend in the limited series.

"She was just smart, tough and no BS. She was just somebody who was there to tell you the truth. We all have those friends who are cute and want to kiki, but for me, we all need that friend who's going to give it to us straight," Tyler tells PRIDE.

Beyond this new acting gig, Tyler has wowed audiences with her range of talent including two of her most notable roles on Criminal Minds and as host of the hilarious improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

"I'm just out here doing my best. As an artist, as a woman, I want to challenge myself all the time. I want to push myself to do things I haven't done before."

As a hard worker in front of and behind the camera, Tyler is hoping all types of directors and aspiring entertainers can pursue their dreams no matter their background.

"For me, as a female director of color, it's not just important for me to be manifesting my own projects, but hopefully to be creating space for other underrepresented directors: women, people of color, [and] queer directors. When I was coming up, there weren't a lot of people that I could look to. A big part of this is a responsibility of trying to create that creative space to make it easier for other underrepresented directors to step up and get to manifest their own dreams."

The Last Thing He Told Me is now streaming on Apple TV+. To see the full interview with Aisha Tyler, check out the video below.
