This year’s goal is to provide the equivalent of 4.54 million meals for the communities served within the food bank’s eight-county service area, including $1.12 million and 100,000 pounds of food.

The campaign includes the Check Out Hunger drive, which allows people to make donations March 1 through May 31 at participating Buehler's Fresh Foods, Dave's Supermarkets, Fishers Foods, Giant Eagle, GetGo and Heinen's Fine Foods stores throughout the region.

The Harvest for Hunger campaign unites the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Second Harvest Food Banks of the Mahoning Valley and North Central Ohio. The four food banks in Northeast Ohio focus on fighting hunger across 21 counties in the region.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank serves Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties.
