When is the Akron Marathon in 2023? Date set for annual event
The streets in and around Akron will be full of runners and supporters Sept. 30 for the Akron Marathon.
This is crowning conclusion of the Akron Marathon Race Series and starts at 7 a.m.
Billed as a foot tour of Akron, the course starts downtown and crosses the All-America Bridge and makes it way past landmarks including the Akron Art Museum, the University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, Stan Hywet Hall and through Highland Square.

How many people are running in the Akron Marathon?
Last year, more than 7,000 people participated in the More than 7,000 people participated in the FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon, & Team Relay, marking the race's 20th anniversary. One couple even got engaged at the finish line.
Akron Marathon: ‘A world-class event’ has made great strides in 20 years
Anne Bitong, president and CEO of the Akron Marathon, said the energy for the 2022 race was something she could not describe.
"This is incredible," she said. "It is the best day in Akron. It's a holiday. It's a day where the community supports each other and celebrates personal achievements."
