Akron woman killed in Springfield Township crash between motorcycle, box truck

An Akron woman was killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a box truck in Springfield Township, according to the Akron post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at Krumroy and Sypher roads in Springfield Township just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the patrol, a 2018 Peterbilt box truck was traveling west on Krumroy Road, and a 2022 Honda Navi motorcycle was traveling north on Sypher Road. The patrol said the motorcycle failed to stop at the intersection and traveled left of center, striking the box truck.

The driver of the motorcycle, Stephanie Terry, 38 of Akron, was pronounced dead by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. The patrol said Terry wasn't wearing a helmet or any other safety equipment. The driver of the box truck, William Wenzlawsh III, 59 of Kent, wasn't injured.

The Springfield Township Police Department, Springfield Township Fire Department and Kinney’s Towing assisted the patrol at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.
