Al Sharpton challenges Trump on race relations

Sharpton said that Trump has "addressed everything but how to deal with the racial gap in this country." He also called Trump "culturally deficient."

Sharpton's comments came ahead of Trump's controversial re-election rally in Tulsa on Saturday (June 20).

The rally is Trump's first major re-election event following the novel coronavirus pandemic that shuttered much of the country and comes amid weeks of civil unrest over the treatment of African Americans and growing protests over racism and policing.

The annual Juneteenth celebration of the emancipation of slaves a century and a half ago comes this year on the heels of mass protests triggered by the killing of George Floyd, a Black man who died after a white Minneapolis police officer pinned him to the ground with a knee to his neck for nearly nine minutes.
