Alabama 20 westbound into Decatur reopens about 12:30 p.m.

Jul. 27—Alabama 20 westbound into Decatur reopened about 12:30 p.m. today after being closed for more than four hours following a wreck involving an overturned semitrailer, Decatur police said.

The accident involving a car and the 18-wheeler occurred this morning at the Y junction, near where Alabama 20 joins U.S. 31. The wreck caused minor injuries, police said.

Traffic was delayed on Alabama 20 westbound and U.S. 31 southbound coming into Decatur. Motorists on Alabama 20 were diverted to northbound U.S. 31 and then back to southbound U.S. 31, causing it to become congested.
