Alabama ABC Board To Temporarily Close Several Local Stores

MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama ABC Board will close 41 stores statewide in response to rapid spread of COVID-19. Some of those stores affected are in the Trussville area.

A release from the ABC Board Monday said stores would hopefully reopen in late February or early March.

Stores in ABC District 2 closing are:

  • Store 30, Tarrant City (2074 Springdale Lane)

  • Store 143, Chalkville (5712 Chalkville Road)

  • Store 230, Pinson (6662 Highway 75)

"Closing some of our stores will provide the greatest amount of employee/customer protection, while ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency," ABC Board Administrator Mac Gipson said. "Our primary concern is the health and well-being of our employees and patrons."

The ABC Board closed 78 of its stores when the pandemic hit in March, and gradually reopened the stores as infection rates decreased.
