Alabama basketball to play Michigan State in Phil Knight Invitational

Alabama basketball has learned who it will face in the first round of the "PK85" Phil Knight Invitational in Portland, Oregon.

The Crimson Tide will start the tournament by playing Michigan State on Nov. 24 at 9:30 p.m. CT at the Moda Center.

The winner will play the winner between UConn and Oregon on Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The other side of the bracket features North Carolina and Oregon and Iowa State and Villanova. The championship game on Nov. 27 at 9 p.m.

The Phil Knight Invitational features a "Legacy" bracket and women's tournament across the same dates.

Alabama and Michigan State have split their two matches with Alabama with the Spartans winning the last in 1998.

The Crimson Tide haven't released the full non-conference schedule but have announced matchups with Gonzaga and Oklahoma. Alabama will face Gonzaga as part of the C.M. Newton Classic in Birmingham on Dec. 17. The Crimson Tide will travel to the Sooners as part of the SEC/Big 12 challenge on Jan. 28, 2023.
