Alabama basketball schedule has date set for Houston matchup | Report

The Alabama basketball schedule added another date to its 2022-23 nonconference schedule on Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide will face Houston on Dec. 10 at the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.

It's the second game in a home-and-home series agreement. Alabama faced Houston on Dec. 11, 2021 and defeated the Cougars 83-82. Houston was ranked No. 14 at the time.

Other top games included in Alabama's nonconference slate that have had dates announced include Gonzaga, Oklahoma, Memphis and Michigan State.

The Crimson Tide is set to face the Spartans on Thanksgiving at 9:30 p.m. CT at the Phil Knight Invitational in Portland, Oregon. It's the first game of a three-day tournament. If Alabama wins in the first round, it will face either UConn or Oregon on Friday at 9 p.m. CT.

Then, the Crimson Tide will play Memphis on Dec. 13 at Coleman Coliseum. The Tigers upset Alabama 92-78 during the 2021-22 season.

The Crimson Tide will face the Bulldogs on Dec. 17 at Legacy Arena in Birmingham as part of the second annual C.M. Newtown Classic. In the first year of the C.M. Newton Classic, Alabama lost 79-78 to Davison. This season's opponent, Gonzaga, faced Alabama in a neutral site game in Seattle in December 2021. Alabama upset Gonzaga 91-82.

Then, the Crimson Tide will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to face the Sooners on Jan. 28, 2023 as part of the Big 12/SEC challenge.
