Alabama basketball score vs. Mississippi State: Live updates from SEC Tournament

Alabama basketball aims to score a victory against Mississippi State on Friday in the SEC Tournament.

The Crimson Tide, as the No. 1 seed, received a double bye in the conference tournament. Alabama won the SEC regular season championship with an overtime win over Auburn in early March, and now the Crimson Tide will aim to win the SEC Tournament title, too.

Alabama coach Nate Oats managed to accomplish both two seasons ago in only his second season with the program. That team went on to have March Madness success, reaching the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

The Crimson Tide is expected to receive a No. 1 seed in this year's field of 68 teams. How the next few days plays out will determine the exact seeding.

First, though, Alabama (26-5) will face No. 9 seed Mississippi State (21-11) in the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena with a trip to the semifinals on the line. The Crimson Tide swept the regular-season series.
