Alabama basketball's Brandon Miller held scoreless in first half of March Madness opener

BIRMINGHAM — Alabama basketball star freshman Brandon Miller was held scoreless in the first half of March Madness opener against Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

The game is being played at Legacy Arena in Birmingham as the Crimson Tide held a 54-34 lead over the Islander. Miller played 13 minutes and shot 0-for-3 from the field and 0-for-2 from 3-point range. He had five rebounds and an assist while holding a plus-minus of 15, leading the team.

Miller was the only player who took multiple shots to not make a shot and joined Jaden Bradley as the only scoreless players who attempted a shot. As a team, Alabama shot 17-for-32, including 10-for-17 from 3-point range. The Crimson Tide were led by Mark Sears with 13 points on 4-for-5 shooting. Sears at one point made three consecutive 3-pointers on Alabama possessions.

Miller's season low is eight points against Houston. Miller came to Alabama as a five-star recruit from Antioch, Tennessee, and was a McDonald's All-American.
