Alabama Fish Bar reopens after truck crashed into storefront entrance

Alabama Fish Bar in Over-the-Rhine reopened Thursday after a truck crashed through its front entrance earlier this month, according to 3CDC, the restaurant's landlord.

The restaurant is currently serving customers through a temporary walk-up window along Race Street until repairs to the building are complete, 3CDC said in a news release.

Officials with 3CDC said they're currently waiting on materials needed to replace the permanent storefront. Construction is expected to be completed in January 2023, the release states.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

A Nissan Titan crashed through the front entrance of the restaurant at 1601 Race Street not long after it opened at 11 a.m. on Oct. 4. A report filed by Cincinnati police said the crash caused substantial damage to the building and resulted in a building inspector also being called to the restaurant.

Ronald Bolton, 59, has been charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol in connection with the crash, according to documents filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court.

Court records show Bolton's driver's license has been suspended pending the outcome of his case.
