Alabama football analyst Todd Grantham joining New Orleans Saints | Report

Take one Alabama football defensive coordinator candidate off the list.

Todd Grantham, a longtime defensive coordinator and analyst for Nick Saban in 2022, has joined the New Orleans Saints coaching staff, according to ESPN's Chris Low. Grantham reportedly interviewed for the Crimson Tide defensive coordinator opening that became vacant when Pete Golding left for the same role with Ole Miss.

Grantham worked for Saban at Michigan State as a defensive line coach and assistant head coach. Since then, Grantham has been a position coach for the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys as well as defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, Georgia Bulldogs, Louisville Cardinals, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Florida Gators.

Grantham last coached in the NFL in 2009 when he was Dallas' defensive line coach.

Saban must hire two coordinators with the departure of Golding and offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, who left for the same job with the New England Patriots.
