Will Alabama football avoid Auburn voodoo at the Iron Bowl? Tuscaloosa News staff picks the score

Alabama football visits Auburn on Saturday in a renewal of the Iron Bowl rivalry. Here's how the sports staff at The Tuscaloosa News sees the outcome:

Jerell Rushin

Alabama 36, Auburn 17

Alabama is not Georgia State. Backup quarterback TJ Finley and Auburn likely are done if they get down against an Alabama team that has put up big numbers. Auburn's defense has generally held up, so maybe its a game at halftime.

Maxwell Donaldson

Alabama 45, Auburn 35

Weird things are known to happen in Jordan-Hare, but Gus Malzahn is not on the Auburn sideline anymore and Bryan Harsin is going to have to start his own magic now. Alabama just has more talent than Auburn and uses that to win the Iron Bowl.

AJ Holliday

Alabama 35, Auburn 27

The last time Alabama went into Jordan-Hare Stadium, the Tigers pulled off a victory. The Crimson Tide’s defense will be key in coming out with a win this time.

Max Wolborsky

Alabama 38, Auburn 14

It’s always a challenge for Alabama when it makes the trip to Jordan-Hare. The Tigers not having their starting quarterback, Bo Nix, should allow the Alabama defense to have a field day.

Mikey DiLullo

Alabama 34, Auburn 27

Auburn always plays Alabama tough in Jordan-Hare. However, with the Tigers down Bo Nix, expect Alabama to get its first road win in the Iron Bowl since 2015.

Sutton Smith

Alabama 41, Auburn 34

Before the injury to Bo Nix, I would have picked Auburn to win the game. Alabama will take advantage of playing Auburn without their leader and go to Atlanta with a chance to make it to the College Football Playoff.
