Alabama football lands Conor Talty, class of 2023 kicker commit from Chicago

Alabama football made a special teams addition to its Class of 2023.

Chicago placekicker Conor Talty committed to Alabama on Tuesday, moving the Crimson Tide to 13 commits in the upcoming signing class.

Talty, 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, received an offer from Alabama just two days before his commitment. The St. Rita recruit had taken several visits to schools in the months prior, but Alabama was the first to offer him.

Alabama outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator Coleman Hutzler is Talty's primary recruiter.

"Huge thank you to my first kicking coach JJ Standring," Talty wrote to Twitter. "You saw the vision I saw, and believed me through the ups and downs. No kicker could have asked for a better (special teams) coach. Another huge thank to Chris Nendick. You've been an enormous help to me in my career, and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done. I also want to thank Chris Sailer for helping me develop as a competitive kicker, and with recruitment. I wouldn't be in this position without you. I'd like to thank Joe Gardener as well for helping me very early in my career with training. Lastly I'd like to thank all my coaches and teammates at St. Rita. With all this being said I'm 100% committed to the University of Alabama. #RollTide"
