The rich got richer Thursday.

After Alabama football signed six five-star prospects on the opening day of the early signing period Wednesday, Desmond Ricks made it seven when announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Thursday.

Ricks is a five-star cornerback ranked No. 2 at the position overall, per the 247Sports Composite. He is also the No. 23 prospect overall in the 2023 class.

He's a 6-foot-1 cornerback who played this season for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Alabama running backs coach Robert Gillespie is listed as the primary recruiter, while cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson was the secondary recruiter.

Nick Saban is looking to sign the No. 1 class this year for the 10th time since 247Sports began ranking full classes in 2010.

Ricks is one of the highlights of any already strong class, particularly in the secondary. Alabama also signed another five-star defensive back in safety Caleb Downs. There's also four-star cornerback Jahlil Hurley (No. 38 prospect), four-star safety Tony Mitchell (No. 54) and four-star defensive back Brayson Hubbard.

Saban hinted Alabama could be looking to sign one more corner after Wednesday.

"I think corner is one of the most difficult positions to find," Saban said Wednesday night, "and that's still something that we're going to continue to look for."

Ricks joins a group of five-star prospects Alabama has added in the early signing period, including Downs, edge defender Keon Keeley (No. 10 overall), offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor (No. 12), defensive lineman James Smith (No. 18), edge Qua Russow (No. 22) and running back Justice Haynes (No. 25 overall).
