Alabama football lands Miles McVay, 19th commit in 2023 class and fourth OL

Alabama football landed a commitment from four-star Illinois offensive lineman Miles McVay Thursday.

McVay, 6-foot-6 and 358 pounds, is Alabama's 19th commit and fourth on the offensive line. He committed to the Crimson Tide over Texas A&M, Michigan State, Missouri, Oregon and Jackson State.

The East St. Louis High recruit is the No. 186 recruit and No. 19 offensive tackle in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite.

McVay joins four-star offensive linemen Wilkin Formby and Olaus Alinen and three-star RyQueze McElderry in the group.

Defensive line coach Freddie Roach was McVay's primary recruiter and first-year offensive line coach Eric Wolford was his secondary.

During the summer, McVay, the No. 2 recruit in Illinois, took an unofficial visit to Alabama and official visits to Oregon, Michigan State and Texas A&M. He can still take an official visit to Alabama this fall.

Alabama landed in-state four-star defensive lineman Hunter Osborne on Aug. 1 and flipped former Ohio State tight end commit Ty Lockwood the next day. The Crimson Tide lead the nation with four five-star commits.

Four-star Gardendale defensive lineman Kelby Collins and California offensive lineman Raymond Pulido, both Alabama targe have commitment dates set for Aug. 13.
