Alabama football NFL Draft 2022 plan tracker: Who's turning pro, who's staying with Tide?

The deadline for Alabama football players to declare for the NFL Draft is Monday.

Players who are eligible are those who've been out of high school for three or more years. That's why players such as quarterback Bryce Young and linebacker Will Anderson Jr. will stay for the 2022 season, even though they both would likely be top 10 picks this year, if not top five.

Here's a look at the Crimson Tide players who have either declared for the NFL Draft or have shared they plan to stay.

Declared for NFL Draft

Offensive tackle Evan Neal (junior): Neal wrapped up his first season at left tackle after starting the previous two seasons at left guard (freshman) and right tackle (sophomore). He was a team captain and a consensus All-American in 2021. He is expected to be drafted early in the first round.

Wide receiver Jameson Williams (junior): The transfer from Ohio State wasted no time in quickly becoming one of the best and most productive receivers in the country. Williams caught 79 passes for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns in his lone season with the Crimson Tide. His draft status could be affected by a knee injury he suffered in the College Football Playoff championship.

Wide receiver John Metchie III (junior): Metchie suffered a season-ending knee injury in the SEC Championship Game after a highly productive season. He led the Crimson Tide with 96 receptions, even while missing the last two games.

Slot receiver Slade Bolden (redshirt junior): As primarily a slot receiver, Bolden caught 42 passes for 408 yards and three touchdowns in 2021. He caught the first touchdown of the Cotton Bowl and led Alabama with seven receptions in the CFP championship.

Edge Christopher Allen (redshirt senior): Allen lost another season to injury in 2021 after he missed 2018 with a knee injury. But the lone game in which he played in 2021, he tallied a sack and forced a fumble.

Running back Brian Robinson Jr. (redshirt senior): The Hillcrest grad finally got his opportunity to be the starter in his fifth season, and he made the most of it. He scored 16 touchdowns in 2021, two of which came via passes. He accepted a Senior Bowl invite, signaling that he's headed to the next level.

Defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis (redshirt senior): Mathis proved to be a force on the interior of Alabama's defense in 2021. He tallied 53 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

Cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (redshirt junior): He performed well in his first season as a starter, tallying three interceptions. He also earned a spot on the coaches' All-SEC second team for his 2021 efforts.

Linebacker Christian Harris (junior): He started all three years with Alabama, and he put a strong cap on his Crimson Tide career. Harris tallied seven tackles, four for loss, three sacks and one forced fumble in the national championship against Georgia.

Offensive lineman Chris Owens (redshirt senior): He spent six seasons with the Crimson Tide, most recently playing right tackle for most of the 2021 season. He's probably a better fit at an interior offensive line position at the next level. Owens started at center in both 2020 College Football Playoff games.

Defensive lineman LaBryan Ray (redshirt senior): Ray accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl, which signals he is headed to the NFL. He played in 13 games this past season, tallying 11 tackles, three for loss and a sack.

Staying with Alabama football

Linebacker Henry To'o To'o (junior): The transfer from Tennessee quickly became a leader for the defense, calling plays and tallying tackles. He led Alabama with 112 total tackles. He also had eight tackles for loss and four sacks.

Defensive tackle DJ Dale (junior): Dale provided consistent push from the interior of the defensive line. He finished the year with 18 total tackles, four for loss and two sacks.

Safety Jordan Battle (junior): Returning Battle was key. He earned second-team All-America from the AFCA and third team from the Associated Press in addition to an All-SEC first-team selection. He had two pick sixes in 2021.

Safety DeMarcco Hellams (junior): Alabama also keeps Hellams, who started next to Battle. Hellams frequently dealt with a lingering lower leg injury that slowed him at times, but he still had three interceptions and 80 total tackles.

Defensive lineman Byron Young (junior): With the departure of Mathis, keeping Young was key. He finished the year with 40 total tackles, 9.5 for loss and two sacks.

Right guard Emil Ekiyor Jr. (redshirt junior): Ekiyor was a consistent presence on the interior as he dealt with change at center and right tackle at times during the 2021 season. As Alabama undergoes even more transition at offensive line, him staying will provide valuable.

Tight end/offensive lineman Kendall Randolph (redshirt senior): Randolph served as a blocking tight end primarily this past season, earning four starts. He has 13 career starts at the position.
