Alabama football reported no secondary NCAA violations in 2021-22 sports year

Alabama athletics reported 12 minor NCAA violations in the 2021-22 school year, according to a report released Friday by the school. Alabama football reported zero violations after having one the previous year.

Alabama men's basketball reported three violations, with two players declared ineligible and later reinstated.

The basketball program withheld a player from the first two games of the season because of Level II or Level III violations. Alabama basketball forward Alex Tchikou missed the first two games of the season after playing in an unapproved celebrity charity tournament according to a source at the school, although he was not named in the report.

The other unnamed player was declared ineligible after UA hired a football strength and conditioning coach who "triggered IAWP (individual associated with a prospective student-athlete) status for a prospective men's basketball student athlete upon his full-time enrollment."

Both players had their eligibility reinstated after UA applied for reinstatement.

Men's basketball also triggered a minor violation for allowing media access to summer skill instruction workouts.

Alabama track and field had the most violations with four. The soccer program reported two violations. Women's basketball, volleyball and men's tennis had one reported violation apiece.
