Alabama football roster update includes new numbers but not backup defensive lineman

Alabama football updated its roster ahead of SEC Media Days in Atlanta, and backup defensive lineman Braylen Ingraham was no longer on it.

He didn't play in 2021 after he saw action in two games for the Crimson Tide during the 2020 season.

He was a four-star prospect, per the 247Sports Composite, out of St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the 2019 class.

The other news out of the updated roster are the numbers for the transfers who had not been listed before such as receiver Tyler Harrell from Louisville, who will again wear No. 8, and offensive tackle Tyler Steen from Vanderbilt, who will also wear the same number he wore before: No. 54.

Steen gets No. 54 from freshman offensive lineman Tyler Booker, who will switch to No. 52.

Number changes

Several returning players also changed their numbers ahead of the 2022 season, especially at running back.

In addition to Gibbs taking No. 1, Jase McClellan is switching to No. 2. Roydell Williams is changing from No. 23 to No. 5.

Backup quarterback Jalen Milroe will switch from No. 2 to No. 4.

Defensive back Terrion Arnold is listed at No. 3 after wearing No. 12. Linebacker Bennett Whisenhunt from Vestavia Hills is switching from No. 59 to No. 55.
