A few days ago we talked about how the Alabama offensive line could shake out this fall and during the 2021 SEC Media Days, Alabama head coach Nick Saban cleared up one of the two open spots.

Saban announced that sophomore offensive lineman Javion Cohen would most likely be the starter at left guard this season. Cohen stands at 6-foot-4, 325-pounds, and is an in-state product from Phenix City, Ala. Cohen was rated as a four-star prospect according to 247.

Generally speaking, coach Saban does not like to discuss the depth chart with the media but was pretty open when asked about Cohen’s development. Saban added, “Javion Cohen has developed very nicely and will most likely be a starter.”

By all indications, four of the five spots are filled along the offensive line. Our best guess would be Evan Neal at left tackle, Javion Cohen at left guard, Chris Owens at center, and Emil Ekiyor Jr. at right guard. That leaves the right tackle spot open for competition this fall.
