Alabama football score vs. Kansas State: Live updates from Sugar Bowl
NEW ORLEANS ― Alabama football is looking to score a victory in the Sugar Bowl against Kansas State on Saturday.
The No. 5 Crimson Tide (10-2) and No. 9 Wildcats (10-3) have never played each other before.
The game marks the 17th appearance in the Sugar Bowl for Alabama, which is 9-7 all-time in the game. The last time Alabama played in the game, it was part of the College Football Playoff in 2015 and 2018.
Quarterback Bryce Young and linebacker Will Anderson Jr. headlined a group of Alabama players who decided to participate in the game when many wondered if they would opt out. Both Young and Anderson are expected to be high first-round NFL draft picks.
Alabama is playing without 10 players who entered the transfer portal after the Iron Bowl, but only one was a starter at the end of the season: left guard Javion Cohen, who transferred to Miami. Freshman Tyler Booker rotated into the lineup with Cohen and Emil Ekiyor Jr. at the guard spots.
