Alabama football is on the road to face the LSU Tigers in an anticipated SEC matchup on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide are coming off a 30-6 win over Mississippi State while the Tigers are coming off a bye week after ending Ole Miss' undefeated streak. Louisiana State will test Alabama's offense, which is struggling to make strides with the rushing game. The Tigers held the Rebels to 117 rushing yards and recorded an interception.

With a win over Louisiana State, Alabama can keep playoff hopes alive and potentially earn a higher ranking to make the College Football Playoff.

Nick Kelly, Alabama football beat reporter

Alabama 31, LSU 20: Kelly is getting his team to play at a high level at the perfect time, but LSU will need at least one more year of him building the program to be able to beat Alabama. The Crimson Tide might have some bumps on the road, but Bryce Young smooths them out by game's end.

Koki Riley, LSU beat reporter

Alabama 32, LSU 24: The Tigers should cover the 13-point spread. But Alabama's huge advantage on the edge against LSU's inexperienced offensive tackles will be too great of an issue for the Tigers to overcome.

Chase Goodbread, sports columnist

Alabama 30, LSU 20: LSU QB Jayden Daniels has a hot hand of late, and just in time for an all-important game against a rival. Can he match Bryce Young score for score? Not with Will Anderson Jr. breathing down his neck. The Crimson Tide, historically unfazed by the widely feared Tiger Stadium venue, takes home a W here.

Blake Toppmeyer, SEC columnist

Alabama 35, LSU 27: Moral victories don’t exist at programs like LSU, but I think the Tigers will show how far they’ve come in one season under Brian Kelly by taking Alabama to the wire. LSU’s Jayden Daniels continues to improve as a passer, and he’s always been a threat as a runner. But Daniels isn’t Bryce Young. Few are. Alabama’s quarterback remains among the biggest difference-makers in college football. He won’t let the Tide lose this playoff elimination game.

John Adams, Senior sports columnist

Alabama 38, LSU 27: The Tigers looked in disarray in an opening loss to Florida State, and they got steamrolled by Tennessee on their home field. But they’re on the upswing and still in contention for the SEC championship under first-year coach Brian Kelly.

That doesn’t mean they’re ready for Alabama, which – despite the loss to Tennessee – isn’t out of the running for another national championship. And Kelly knows how dangerous the Tide can be when they have championship incentive. Kelly’s 2012 Notre Dame team lost to Alabama 42-14 in the national championship game. His 2020 team lost to Alabama 31-14 in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
