Alabama football win over Texas peaks at 15.1 million viewers

Big games mean big viewers, that especially is true when Alabama football is playing a big game.

The Crimson Tide's matchup this past weekend with the Longhorns saw an average of 10.595 million viewers on the Fox network. The game peaked at 15.1 million viewers from 3:15 to 3:30 p.m. ET, near the end of the game that saw Texas take a late lead before Will Reichard made a 33-yard field goal to secure a 20-19 win for Alabama.

It is the most-watched college football game this season, barely passing the Ohio State-Notre Dame week one matchup that brought in 10.5 million viewers in the ABC primetime slot. Both games surpassed all viewership counts from the 2021 regular season, minus the Ohio State-Michigan game.

Fox previously announced the Alabama-Texas game was the most-streamed game in Fox history, for both college and NFL. It was the fourth-most-watched regular-season game on Fox, only behind three Ohio-State Michigan games.

The game was the most-watched Alabama regular-season game since 16.64 million tuned in to watch LSU beat the Crimson Tide in 2019.

The second most-watched game on Saturday was Tennessee's overtime win against Pitt with 4.46 million tuning into ESPN.
