Alabama high school football playoffs scores, live updates: AHSAA first round in Tuscaloosa

The 2022 Alabama high school football season continues with the first round of the AHSAA and AISA playoffs on Nov. 4.

Tuscaloosa Academy earned a Class 2A 2 seed in its first season in the AHSAA after leaving the AISA. Southern Academy is the lone AISA school in the playoffs from the Tuscaloosa area.

Hillcrest, American Christian Academy, Gordo, Aliceville, Demopolis and Linden each have 1 seeds and open the playoffs at home. Tuscaloosa Academy, Bibb County and Pickens County also host in the first round with their 2 seeds.

The top four finishers in each region will reached the AHSAA playoffs. Three and 4 seeds play on the road in the first round.

The top players in the area look to lead their teams to the second round of the AHSAA and AISA playoffs, which are Nov. 11. The AHSAA Super 7 state championships are in Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The AISA championships are in Montgomery at Crampton Bowl Nov. 17.
