Alabama high school football scores, live updates for AHSAA Week 5 in Montgomery area

It's Week 5 of AHSAA and AISA high school football, and across Alabama, teams are reaching the midpoint of their seasons.

Montgomery-area teams are using Week 5 as a break from region play or a chance to challenge themselves against tough opponents from out of their region. That means a slate of intriguing clashes, including 3A No. 3 St. James traveling to take on 5A Charles Henderson, a meeting between AISA unbeatens Macon-East and Lee-Scott Academy, and city rivals G.W. Carver and Robert E. Lee squaring off in a rivalry game at Cramton Bowl.

The top four finishers in each region will reach the AHSAA playoffs, which begin Nov. 4 and culminate in the Super 7 at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The AISA playoffs also start No. 4, with the finals taking place at Cramton Bowl on Nov. 17.
