Alabama homicide suspect arrested in Delaware County traffic stop

MUNCIE, Ind. — A man wanted on a homicide charge in Alabama was arrested Wednesday in Delaware County.

According to an Indiana State Police release, Teddy Donnel Cozart Jr., 20 — of Andalusia, Alabama, about 120 miles northeast of Mobile — was apprehended shortly after 4 p.m. following a traffic stop on U.S. 35, near Mount Pleasant southeast of Muncie.

The release said Trooper Corey Bell was patrolling in the area after receiving complaints from citizens about speeders, and pulled over a Ford Focus driven by Cozart tor traveling over the speed limit.

After the traffic stop, it was determined Cozart was the target of a warrant issued after a man was shot to death in Andalusia last October.
