Alabama man dead after pickup truck strikes guard rail south of Woodbine Road

A 35-year-old Flomaton, Alabama, man is dead after he ran off the road and struck a guard rail south of Woodbine Road in Santa Rosa County early Friday morning.

The man was traveling north on U.S. 90 through a construction zone just south of Woodbine Road at approximately 1:34 a.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The pickup ran off the right side of the roadway, where it collided with a guard rail end.

The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead on the scene. No other vehicles or people were involved. Attempts to locate next of kin for notification have been unsuccessful at this point.
