Alabama softball transfer tracker: Who's coming in and out of Tuscaloosa?

Alabama's softball season ended on a low note after losing in the NCAA regional round for the first time since 2004.

The Crimson Tide went 44-13 and finished second in the SEC. Seniors Montana Fouts, Ally Shipman and Ashley Prange announced their return for a fifth season. Shipman and Prange transferred to Alabama last season, made an immediate impact for the Crimson Tide and earned All-SEC honors.

However, six players entered the transfer portal after the Tuscaloosa Regional. Here are the players that are leaving and joining Alabama softball this season.

Who is transferring out from Alabama softball?

Megan Bloodworth, INF — Bloodworth started in 45 games in her freshman season. She batted .292 (the fourth-highest average on the team), recorded 31 hits, batted in 30 runners and hit seven home runs. She was a 2022 Schutt Sports/ NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year Top 25 Finalist.

Destination: Oklahoma State

Abby Doerr, C — Doerr appeared in 35 games as a junior. The seasoned catcher posted a batting average of .227 over 97 at-bats, and she logged 48 putouts, 17 RBIs and 22 hits. She has two years of eligibility left.

Destination: TBD

Dallis Goodnight, OF — Goodnight played in 55 games as a freshman. She recorded a .302 batting average (third-highest on the team), and had 42 hits and 18 stolen bases.

Destination: Georgia

Lexi Kilfoyl, P — Kilfoyl had an ERA of 2.36 in 18 pitching appearances, including 13 starts, in her junior year. She threw 79 strikeouts in 80 innings and allowed 65 hits and 35 runs. She threw the sixth perfect game in Alabama softball history on April 4 against Georgia. Kilfoyl made the 2021 NFCA Third-Team All-South Region and 2021 All-SEC Newcomer Team.

Destination: Oklahoma State

Jenna Lord, INF — Lord appeared in 45 games, including 30 starts, as a freshman. She had a .289 batting average (fifth-highest on the team), and recorded 26 hits and 19 RBIs. She batted 5-for-9 and drove in four runs during the NCAA regionals. She has three years of eligibility remaining.

Destination: Ole Miss

Savannah Woodard, UT — Woodard played in 42 games, including 23 starts. She scored 15 runs, logged nine hits and batted .164 as a junior. She made the 2021 NFCA Third-Team All-South Region and 2021 All-SEC Newcomer Team.

Who is transferring to Alabama softball?

Emma Broadfoot, UT — Broadfoot joined the Crimson Tide as a junior after transferring from North Alabama. She earned 2022 First-Team All-Conference honors after breaking five school records last season. She set the best batting average (.388) mark and most hits (69), RBIs (61), walks (31) and doubles (15) records.

Lauren Esman, LHP/UT — Esman committed to Alabama in July for her final two years of eligibility. She transferred from Michigan, where she was a career .277 hitter with over 100 games played and earned two-time Academic All-Big Ten honors. Esman was the 2019 Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and Michigan Miss Softball.

Faith Hensley, OF — Hensley transferred in July from Ball State as a fifth-year senior. She was the 2022 MAC Player of the Year after hitting 17 home runs and batting in 40 runners with a .404 batting average. Hensley ranks first in on-base percentage (.499), second in batting average (.389) and third in slugging percentage (.720) in Ball State history.
