The Alachua County Republican Party and the Alachua County Democratic Party will hold separate annual fundraisers just four days apart this October.

Ronald Reagan Black Tie and Blue Jeans Fundraiser

The 21st annual Republican fundraiser will take place on Oct. 14 at Legacy Park in Alachua. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem will headline the fundraiser with Senator Rick Scott, Rep. Kat Cammack and former Rep. Ted Yoho expected to attend.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, Candace Owens and Larry Elder have all headlined the event.

Attendees are encouraged to buy tickets early in case they sell out at alachuarepublicans.com, according to a press release. The event is expected to start at 7 p.m.

DeSantis spoke at last year’s event where the press was barred from attending.

Ed Braddy, formerly the local GOP chair, said last year that tickets for the event had been sold out and news organizations were restricted from being inside the venue unless the outlet had previously bought a $125 ticket, which is considered a donation to the local Republican Party.

The Alachua County Democratic Party also announced it will hold the 24th Lawton Chiles Gala on Oct. 8 at the University of Florida Hilton Conference Center. Speakers for the event include Andrew Warren, Monique Worrell and U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and tickets are available at alachuadems.org.
