Alachua County school district to host job fairs to fill roles at elementary schools

Alachua County Public Schools is looking to fill a variety of roles throughout the district and hopes to find qualified candidates at a pair of upcoming job fairs.

The job fairs will be held Monday and Tuesday at Williams Elementary School and Metcalfe Elementary School.

Both schools are looking to fill positions for teachers, aides, custodians and other staff members. For many positions, no experience is needed.

The Williams Elementary School event will be held Monday, June 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. The school is located at 1245 SE 7th Ave. in Gainesville.

The Metcalfe Elementary School, which opened last year, event will be held Tuesday, June 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the school’s media center. Metcalfe’s address is 1250 NE 18th Ave. in Gainesville.

Applicants are encouraged to bring resumes, but it is not required. Registration for the fairs is also not required and free for anyone wishing to attend.

“This is an opportunity for people to find a great career that allows them to make a difference for the children in this community,” said district recruiter Tonya Nunn in a statement.
