Alameda County Coronavirus Update: 195 New Cases, 3 More Deaths

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — There are 195 new cases of the coronavirus in Alameda County as of Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 10,633, according to newly released county health department data.

There have been three additional deaths in the county in the past 24 hours, according to the Alameda County Health Department, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the county to 181. In the Alameda County local health jurisdiction, there have been 10,259 cases and 178 deaths. In the Berkeley local health jurisdiction, there have been 374 cases and three deaths to date.

As of Tuesday, there have been 509 coronavirus cases at skilled nursing facilities in the county, with 79 deaths.

Alameda County local health jurisdiction has tested 234,735 people to date, with 12,188 positive test results representing a 5.19 percent positivity rate.

Berkeley local health jurisdiction has tested 17,921 people to date, with 402 positive test results representing a 2.24 percent positivity rate.

Across the county, there have been 252,656 tests with 12,590 positive tests representing a 4.98 percent positivity rate.

The breakdown in county cases by age is as follows:

  • 0-17: 1,064 cases

  • 18-30: 2,779 cases

  • 31-40: 2,212 cases

  • 41-50: 1,784 cases

  • 51-60: 1,294 cases

  • 61-70: 789 cases

  • 71-80: 402 cases

  • 81+: 303 cases

The breakdown in county deaths by age is as follows:

  • 51-60: 22 deaths

  • 61-70: 27 deaths

  • 71-80: 48 deaths

  • 81+: 75 deaths
