Alaska Airlines and Breeze Airways offer winter sales with one-way flights as low as $29

Pack your bags, it's time for an affordable winter getaway to destinations such as Salt Lake City, Seattle or San Francisco. To usher in the new year, two U.S. airlines are having winter sales with fares as low as $29 for a one-way flight.

If you book before Jan. 5 at 11:59 p.m. PT, you can get in on Alaska Airlines' New Year Sun and Snow sale, which is offering one-way flights are going for as low as $39. Travel dates are from Jan. 17 through March 8 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

"This Sun and Snow sale is perfect for guests who want to escape for an adventure," an Alaska Airlines spokesperson told USA TODAY.

Flying to 31 national destinations, Breeze Airways is also having its 2023 Travel Bucket List sale until Jan. 5. at 11:59 p.m. ET, with about two-thirds of its routes included, a Breeze spokesperson said. Travel dates for the discounted flights must take place between Jan. 11 and Feb. 14.

What are the best deals of the Alaska Airlines' New Year Sun and Snow sale?

The winter sale includes one-way flights starting at just $39 for its Saver Fare (the lowest class), such as Los Angeles to San Jose and San Diego to Sacramento.

If you're hoping to escape the cold weather to a more tropical destination, a one-way flight to Honolulu from Los Angeles or Maui from San Francisco will cost just $99.

Fly across the country from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale or Orlando from Portland for just $99 as well.

For the sale, seats are limited and not available on every flight or all days. Unfortunately, while Saver fares offer the best deals, no changes are allowed outside of Alaska's 24-hour cancellation policy. Some blackout dates apply.

What are the best deals of the Breeze Airways' 2023 Travel Bucket List sale?

Sixty-eight routes are included in the winter sale for Breeze Airways. The lowest fare, a $29 one-way flight, for flights between Provo, Utah and Las Vegas for either a getaway hitting the slopes or the Strip.

For a warm-weather trip, you could fly from Westchester, New York to Jacksonville, Florida, or Louisville, Kentucky, to Tampa, Florida, for $49.

Flights between the two coasts are also cheap between Los Angeles and Westchester, New York, or Richmond and Phoenix, a one-way will cost $99. A flight between Richmond and San Francisco will be $129.

Travel between Feb. 9 and Feb. 14 is excluded from the sale.
