Albert Lea woman injured in crash near Medford Friday night
Feb. 24—MEDFORD, Minn. — One was injured in a vehicle crash near Medford around 9 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2024.
A Volvo semi trailer and the Volkswagen Routan were traveling south on Interstate 35 when they collided and the Volkswagen caught fire, according to the Minnesota State Patrol crash report.
The passenger of the 2012 Volkswagen, Amy Marie Gomez of Albert Lea, 33, sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to Owatonna Hospital.
The driver of the 2012 Volkswagen, Felipe Julian Carrizales of Albert Lea, 29, and the driver of the 1998 Volvo semi trailer, Eric Jerome Cook of Mansfield, Missouri, 65, did not sustain any injuries and were not transported to a care facility.
The Steele County Sheriff's Office, Medford Fire Department, and Mayo Ambulance also responded to the scene.
