Albright football falls to Wilkes, Lebanon Valley football defeats Alvernia

Oct. 1—Albright suffered its 12th consecutive regular season loss at the hands of Wilkes on the road on Saturday, falling to the Colonels 27-0. Back in Berks County, Alvernia fell to Lebanon Valley College 32-6 at the Turf Field.

Wilkes ended its first drive of the game — a seven-play, 48-yard drive — with a 10-yard touchdown run from Elijah Jules. Things did not get any easier for the Lions (0-3, 0-5) the rest of the way, as the Colonels (2-1, 3-1) limited Albright to four first downs in the first half and only one in the second half.

Wilkes scored its second touchdown in the second quarter on an 8-yard run by Isaiah Rodriguez, which capped an 8-play, 80-yard drive. Jules scored a second 10-yard rushing touchdown for the Colonels in the third quarter. Nick Volpone made two field goals in the fourth quarter, one from 27 yards and one from 31 yards, to close out the scoring.

The Lions finished with 87 total yards of offense (19 passing and 68 rushing). Isaiah Shockley had a team-high 26 rushing yards for Albright.

At the Turf Field, the Flying Dutchmen outscored Alvernia 23-6 in the second half after leading the Golden Wolves 9-0 at the break.

Alvernia recorded 196 rushing yards and 67 passing yards in the contest. The Golden Wolves scored their only touchdown on a 77-yard run by Ka'more Gill in the fourth quarter. Gill had a team-high 88 rushing yards.

Devin Crone made three field goals in the second quarter for Lebanon Valley College.

Alvernia registered 146 yards of offense in the first half, but the Golden Wolves (0-2, 1-3) failed to get into the red zone until the third quarter.

Braden Bohannon scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown for the Flying Dutchmen (3-0, 3-2) with 3:15 to go in the third quarter. The Golden Wolves gave up a safety on the ensuing possession. Bohannon then threw his first touchdown pass of the day to Jay Sisko for a 32-yard score early in the fourth quarter.

Lebanon Valley's Dion Bryant rushed for a 1-yard touchdown with 3:49 remaining in the fourth to close out the scoring.
