With trips to the hairdressers off the cards until at least 12 April, we’ve had to take matters into our own hands, whether that’s by cutting our split ends at home or touching up our roots.

Owing to the amount of time spent in lockdown over the past year, hair tools have become lusted-after products thanks to their ability to help you recreate a bouncy blow-dry.

The Revlon one step dry and volumiser, for example, has reached cult status on TikTok with the hashtag #revlonhairdryerbrush amassing 83.4 million views, with users praising it for creating effortless waves and instant volume.

And now Aldi has jumped on the bandwagon. The budget-friendly supermarket, known for its middle-aisle discounts on everything from hanging egg chairs and velvet footstools to air fryers and coffee machines, is selling one of Revlon’s leading hot brushes for a fraction of its RRP.

The one step dryer and hair styler is essentially a hairbrush, blowdryer and hair straightener in one, and works by dispersing heat across the tool to give you salon-quality, frizz-free locks.

Despite its retail price of £50, you can currently get it for just £29.99 thanks to Aldi’s Specialbuys. You’ll want to act fast because of the popularity of Revlon’s products, as well as the low price.

You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections. This revenue helps us to fund journalism across The Independent.

Revlon one step dryer and hair styler

If someone uttered the words “Revlon hair tool” to you, chances are you’d think of the Tik Tok-famous hot brush that has been making waves online and in our locks. While that product is designed to give you a bouncy blow-dry, this styler works to straighten the hair. According to the brand, the ionic technology leaves locks feeling silky and smooth, while also working to tame frizz.

In our guide to the best straightening brushes, we featured a strikingly similar Revlon paddle dryer that received rave reviews. Our writer noted that it was “super easy to use – just brush slowly down through towel-dried hair, lifting up at the roots for added volume”. She added that it “gave a super smooth finish, even taming our tester’s awkward halo frizz”.

These types of paddle brushes are “a must-have for thick or coarse hair” because they’re useful for “locks that otherwise take time to style”, said our writer. As such, we’d certainly trust this Revlon tool in styling lacklustre locks.

With 40 per cent off the recommended retail price of £50, we reckon you should snap this one up fast. It’s available to pre-order now and will be in-store from 7 March.
