Alec Baldwin ‘overjoyed to lose job’ as he retires ‘loser’ Trump on SNL

Alec Baldwin returned to play Donald Trump one last time shortly after declaring he was "overjoyed" to be out of the job.
Hours before he was due to play the president on Saturday Night Live, news broke that Trump had lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden.
Responding on Twitter, Baldwin wrote: "I don’t believe I’ve ever been this overjoyed to lose a job before!"
For his final regular appearance, Baldwin's Trump stated: "As anyone who died halfway through Tuesday knows, I was re-elected president of the United States."
This was in reference to the fact that Trump has refused to accept defeat and has made numerous unfounded claims that the election results were rigged. He has threatened legal action.
Baldwin's Trump then departed the stage to play a rendition of Village People's "Macho Man", following which he told the crowd: “See you in court.”
The actor returned at the end of the show where he could be seen holding up a sign that said: “You’re welcome."
Elsewhere, host Dave Chappelle – who returned for the first time since the week Trump became president in 2016 – delivered an "important" speech that saw him brand the president a "racist".
Meanwhile, Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph – in character as Joe Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris – celebrated the news, with Carrey resurrecting his Ace Ventura character to deliver a brutal message to “loser” Trump.
