Aledo QB Hauss Hejny commits to TCU

TCU has landed its quarterback for the 2024 recruiting class and it happens to be a local standout.

Aledo quarterback Hauss Hejny announced his commitment to TCU on Twitter Thursday afternoon and becomes Sonny Dykes’ first commitment for 2024.

“After much consideration, I’m proud to announce my commitment to Texas Christian University,” Hejny said in a statement. “As someone who has grown up with purple in my blood, becoming a Horned Frog is a lifelong dream come true.”

Hejny led Aledo to Division I-5A state championship and threw for 2,094 yards and ran for 1,276. A true dual-threat quarterback, the 5-foot-11 standout is ranked the No. 44 quarterback nationally according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Hejny held offers from California, Baylor, Houston and Nebraska among others. Hejny visited TCU last weekend and took in a practice on Saturday.

He was selected Texas District 3-5A D-I Overall MVP and also has impressed on the track by posting multiple sub-11.00 100-meter times as a sophomore. Simply put, the Horned Frogs added an elite athlete with a winning pedigree to the quarterback room.

There’s hopes Hejny will be the first domino to get the momentum rolling for 2024. TCU originally had its quarterback for the class with Midland Legacy four-star Marcos Davila, but Davila decommitted a month after Garrett Riley departed for Clemson. Davila is now committed to Purdue.

In the end TCU got their man and it always helps to have a pipeline established with a program with the pedigree of Aledo. In other significant recruiting news, the Horned Frogs will be hosting Duncanville five-star defensive lineman Colin Simmons this weekend.
