Alejandro Villanueva to wear No. 78 for Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have added plenty of pieces to their offensive line over the course of the 2021 offseason. The team signed guard Kevin Zeitler, drafted another guard in Ben Cleveland, and added another solid player to their trenches in tackle Alejandro Villanueva.

Villanueva will be tasked with manning the right tackle spot in Baltimore, so he’ll have to make a transition over from left tackle, where he established himself as a starting quality option with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After revealing what numbers their rookies would wear, the Ravens also announced what number Villanueva would suit up in with the team, and it’s a familiar one.

The No. 78 was most recently worn by former Baltimore tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. Villanueva donned No. 78 in Pittsburgh, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he’s sticking with what he’s worn and what he’s familiar with.
