Alesha Dixon says she 'doesn't pay any attention' to negative Britain's Got Talent stories

Alesha Dixon has said that she “doesn’t pay attention” to any negative stories and takes everything “with a pinch of salt”.

The pregnant Britain’s Got Talent star explained that a “sense of humour” is key when reading negative stories, particularly about her and co-star Amanda Holden’s fashion during the live shows.

“We’re in our little bubble having a great time. I am a huge fan of fashion so it’s a privilege to wear such brilliant designers and to work with incredible teams and fantastic couture,” Dixon told Standard Online. “So we just enjoy it and ignore anything negative.

“I just keep things in perspective. To me I am going to work and doing a job, that’s what I’ve done for the past 22 years.

“I think, for me, what’s worked is taking everything with a pinch of salt, having a sense of humour about everything and not taking things too seriously. If you can have that, it just makes managing everything and life a lot easier.”

Dixon has teamed up with Stitch Fix for a brand new fashion podcast, covering a wide variety of topics from relationships to careers.

And while Dixon says it is “very lovely to have an all-female podcast”, she hopes people of all ages and men will sit and “possibly learn something” from listening to it.

“We just chat for hours about things we can all relate to and all been through and it’s quite nice to analyse life and where you’re at, where you’ve been and where you’re going,” Dixon said.

“And to learn from one another because there is no right or wrong way because everybody’s experience is unique to them and who you are and what you’ve achieved – there is always more to learn, always more to learn about yourself.”

Dixon revealed she was pregnant with her second child earlier this year, just as the BGT live semi-final week kicked off.

The happy news was announced by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly before the singer rose to show off her blossoming baby bump, telling viewers she was “over the moon” to be expecting another child.

Dixon is already mum to six-year-old Azura with partner Azuka Ononye.
