Alessi Hartigan hosting casting call for multiple projects on March 2

Feb. 28—Calling all background actors!

Alessi Hartigan Casting is hosting a casting call for multiple upcoming projects to be filmed in New Mexico from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Revel ABQ.

Revel is located at 4720 Alexander Blvd. NE.

Shayne Hartigan, of Alessi Hartigan Casting, said the two projects that are being cast for background actors is the Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions project, as well as a Netflix series.

"These are two very different projects," Hartigan said. "We're going to be hiring anywhere from 5,000 to 6,000 people over the next few months."

Hartigan said the projects are in preproduction and the majority of the roles are for background actors.

Hartigan says one project will be looking for nurses and first responder types.

Another project is casting for sports fans, football players, cheerleaders, paparazzi, models, bodybuilders, band members and students.

"Right now, there's enough work in New Mexico to make background acting a career," Hartigan said. "There's enough work that people can stay consistently busy."

"We're doing everything digitally," Hartigan said. "Once each person registers, get to Revel and we make sure all their information is correct. Then when we need background actors as we are casting, we have that list to pull from. It's exciting to see so much movement."

Alessi Hartigan has done casting for "Oppenheimer," "Barbie," "Dune," "Flamin' Hot," "Opus," "Waco: Aftermath," "The Lone Ranger" and "The Kid."
