Alex and Ani's assets go up for auction. Here's what's available.

A Warwick company says that it plans to auction off assets that formerly belonged to Alex and Ani, signaling how far the once-ubiquitous jewelry brand has fallen.

SJ Corio Company, a Warwick-based commercial auction service, will begin the online-only bidding at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Don't expect a massive stockpile of jangly metal charm bracelets. According to SJ Corio, the 1,800 lots in the auction include "assets related to the distribution center, pick to light order picking systems, store fixtures, computers, office equipment, bagging equipment, printers, racking, and so much more."

The auction company's website lists items such as pallet jacks, barcode readers, Lenovo laptops, printers, and flat panel TVs.

They'll also be selling off assorted artwork, mid-century modern style furniture, stainless steel two-door refrigerators, custom-built butcher block desks and numerous office chairs, in case you'd like to bring a little bit of Alex and Ani into your home (or business).

Once seen as a Rhode Island success story, Alex and Ani filed for bankruptcy protection in 2021. Earlier this year, the company closed 20 of its remaining stores and vacated its East Greenwich headquarters.

"Corio began the auction process back in May of this year, however, at the end of June, Alex and Ani management locked the doors and abandoned the assets to the landlord," states the auction company's press release. "In September, SJ Corio continued the set-up of the auction for the landlord."

The assets for sale in the auction are located in the former Stanley Bostitch building in East Greenwich, located at 10 Briggs Drive. Members of the public are able to take a look starting at 10 a.m. on Monday.

All bidding will take place online at sjcorio.com. The auction closes at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
