The Washington-Liberty High School football team held a workout Tuesday in preparation for its upcoming home game against rival Wakefield High School. However, it was no typical workout. Capitals star Alex Ovechkin stopped by and met with the team before snapping a picture.

Ovechkin had the day off Tuesday ahead of the Capitals’ training camp, which begins at their Arlington, Va. practice facility this Thursday. He evidently decided to make a visit to W-L, located just five blocks away from the Caps' MedStar Iceplex headquarters, for an outdoor work out. Ovechkin has occasionally been seen with his personal trainer at W-L's facility in the past.

Fittingly, the 36-year-old Ovechkin was wearing a shirt that read, “Running Sucks” while posing for the photo on the high school’s outdoor track. No word on if the Generals' players took that message to their coaches and got out of running sprints.
