Alex Rodriguez Has Apparently ”Come to Terms” With Split From Jennifer Lopez
It’s pretty safe to say that Alex Rodriguez didn’t handle his Jennifer Lopez split well. And that’s kinda putting it kindly—remember him publicly posting an Instagram Story video of him listening to Coldplay in front of...a J.Lo photo display shrine? Back then, A-Rod had some hope that he would get back together with J.Lo, but in light of all the news surrounding her and Ben Affleck, he’s officially put those hopes to rest.
“When they first split, he wanted to work things out and still held on to hope that he and J.Lo would get back together,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s come to terms with the fact that it’s over now.” Honestly? Love that for him.
This is a much better update from A-Rod than the one we got last month—a separate source told E! News that he was pretty hurt and at how quickly Jennifer had moved on to Ben...aka three weeks after their split. A source told the outlet, “A-Rod is shocked that J.Lo has moved on” and “he truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect. He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.” At the time, sources said that A-Rod was “saddened” about Bennifer 2.0 and reached out to J.Lo to tell her “he’s upset.”
As a reminder, sources told ET back in April that J.Lo “tried her hardest” to make things with with A-Rod, but their relationship “wasn’t making her happy anymore” as they were having some trust issues.
“She knew it was time to let go. There were issues when it came to wedding plans and trust issues that she couldn't get past,” the source said. “Her kids are sad about the breakup because they all grew so close, but ultimately want what's best for their mom and for her to be happy. There is still love and respect between the two families.”
So in the great words of Taylor Swift, J.Lo, and A-Rod are never getting back together. Like ever. RIP, but can I interest you in Bennifer’s relationship timeline to fill the void?
