Alex Trebek Appears On Former Contestant Austin Rogers' Podcast Amid Cancer Battle

Alex Trebek made a rare appearance on former "Jeopardy!" contestant Austin Rogers' podcast "A Lot to Learn with Austin Rogers" amid his battle with pancreatic cancer.

The long-time game show host did not speak about his illness but instead spoke about how he spends his time when not working on the show.

The 79-year-old revealed that most of his free time is spent on home improvement.

"I love fixing things," Trebek told Rogers as they began their discussion about his recent renovation of his wife, Jean's bathroom.

"It all seemed to have worked out pretty well," Alex boasted about the new washroom.

Weeks ago, photos of Trebek standing in the demolished bathroom went viral.

"She's happy with it, I'm happy with it," Trebek continued, "her next project is her office and her closet."

Fans were impressed to see the before and after photos and the finished room is really neat.

"You did a BEAUTIFUL job. Awesome bathroom. Love it," one fan commented.

Other fans commented about how happy and good he looked in the pics.

"You look great God Bless You!!!"

Trebek and Rodgers did move on to other topics, including fancy cars and why Alex does not have one.

"I am past the age where I feel the need to have an impressive car to impress people with," Alex said. "I went through that when I started my career in Southern California."

The "Jeopardy!" host then revealed that the first car he bought in Los Angeles was a 1956 Bentley Mulliner Park Ward Convertible.

"It cost $34,000 at that time," he explained. "It was very impressive."

Trebek goes on to tell a funny story involving Wilt Chamberlin.

Part 2 of Trebek's interview on "A Lot to Learn with Austin Rogers" airs October 24.

Last month, Trebek gave an unfortunate update on his health and said he is going through another round of chemotherapy.

In an interview on "GMA," Trebek sat down with ABC News' T.J. Holmes and revealed that he lost a bunch of weight after finishing up his first round of treatment for stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Even though he is fighting for his life, Trebek does not want people to feel sad for him and explained that he has lived a long and successful life.
