Alexander County man arrested for stealing gas from vehicles: sheriff

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been arrested for stealing a chainsaw and gas from vehicles, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, Jan 21, deputies responded to a house on Harris Bridge Road about a suspicious person.

The homeowner showed officials surveillance footage and determined a chainsaw had been taken.

Officials say they found a siphon hose and a gas can which the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Jacob Lloyd Fountain, was using to steal gas from vehicles on the property.

Deputies found Lloyd coming out of a wooded area on Harris Bridge Road after they set up a perimeter. Canine Levi was able to find the stolen property in the woods.

Man arrested in Rowan County for possession of pipe bombs

Lloyd was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was issued a $12,500 secured bond for the charges of:

  • 2 counts of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle

  • 2 counts of misdemeanor larceny

  • Misdemaor attempt to break and enter a motor vehicle

Lloyd is currently on probation for felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor communicating threats and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
