Alexander Rossi, Felix Rosenqvist crash in IndyCar race at Toronto

Alexander Rossi got taken out of Sunday's IndyCar Series race at Toronto by a possible future teammate.

Rossi and Felix Rosenqvist got together on Lap 45 of 85, and Rossi was sent into a retaining wall. They were battling for fourth place. Rosenqvist continued on.

Rossi, who drives for Andretti Autosport, has signed to drive for Arrow McLaren SP in 2023. Rosenqvist is with AMSP, and he will remain with the team next season, though his role is uncertain.

"He just shoved me off," Rossi said on his team radio after the collision.

IndyCar took no action against either driver.

▶ Four Andretti Autosport drivers − Rossi, Romain Grosjean, Colton Herta and Devlin DeFrancesco − got into each other at various points two weeks ago at Mid-Ohio, prompting a post-race team meeting.

▶ Two teams claim Alex Palou's services for 2023 − McLaren and Chip Ganassi Racing. Palou didn't address his future in a prerace interview, but he said he was determined to win Sunday despite starting 22nd.

"We have the same target, and that's to win today," Palou said.
