Alexandra Breckenridge Reveals Filming on Virgin River Season 5 Has Been Delayed

Alexandra Breckenridge has a full schedule!

The Virgin River star was talking with Glamour recently about juggling her role as Mel on the hit Netflix series with her return to This Is Us when she let slip some disappointing news.

"When This Is Us reached out to have me come back in season four, I was already filming season two of Virgin River […] but unfortunately because of scheduling conflicts, I couldn't do it. So that was shelved for a while," Breckenridge said of her absence from This Is Us.

"They've been trying to get me to come back since I've been on Virgin River," she recalled. "And then, as it [just so happened], we were supposed to start shooting season five of Virgin River in March, but it was pushed to July."

Did you catch that? Filming for season five of Virgin River was delayed for four months! While that allowed Breckenridge to devote more time to her other high-profile gig, we're sad to learn that we might have to wait longer for season five to drop.

But let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Fortunately, we still have season four to look forward to, which is due to hit the streamer later this year.

Breckenridge was also kind enough to share a little about the drama to come in the next installment of Virgin River.

"I told Jack that I was pregnant when he was about to propose at the end of season three. So obviously we're going to watch Mel and Jack navigate the baby that we don't know who the father is," she told Glamour. "So that should be enjoyable. And they never actually get engaged at the end of season three. So, we'll see if they end up getting engaged in season four or not."

Oh, this is going to be good!
