The Peach Cobbler Factory officially opened its doors last Saturday at 5913 Provine Place Suite A in Alexandria. It already has turned Frank and Patricia Brown of New Llano into “peach cobbler gobblers.”

The dessert shop is open seven days a week. Lobby hours are noon to 10 p.m., and the drive-thru will soon be open from noon until midnight. Next week, they will start their delivery service from noon to midnight.

“The tea – the peach tea – is delicious,” Frank said as Patricia ordered.

Frank pastors First Church of God in Christ, Pineville, every Sunday, so while they were in town, they decided to make their first trip to the new dessert shop after church.

“Some of our friends told us about it,” Patricia said.

The Browns loved it enough that they stopped by again Wednesday while they were in town for business.

“I had peach cobbler on my mind,” Frank said. “I couldn’t leave without getting some peach cobbler.”

They picked up some cinnamon rolls with peanut butter and praline and cinnamon rolls with apple butter.

“And of course, we had to get the churros,” Patricia said.

On Wednesday, the Browns and others were waiting outside the store for it to open.

Owner Faith Gajcowski said she opened the shop because she felt like the community needed something new and exciting. She did some online research and the Peach Cobbler Factory popped up.

Though the name of the shop is the Peach Cobbler Factory, they don’t only sell peach cobbler or food or drinks made with peaches.

“We sell Pudd-N Shakes. We have Bigger & Better Cookies. Brownies, churros,” she said of some of the desserts.

The most popular desserts so far in the short time they’ve been open have been the peach cobbler, of course, and the churros.

They also sell different flavors of cobbler, banana pudding, cookies, waffles and cinnamon rolls.

The reaction to their opening has been great, Gajcowski said.

“A lot of love and support from the community,” she said. “We’ve just been busy since we opened.”
