Ask Windy Holland, owner of Windy Willows Garden, how her garden grows.

“We grow everything naturally. No chemicals are in the gardens,” she said, while manning her booth at the Cabrini Farmers Market on Saturday.

Holland processes seasonings and powders from herbs, garlic and onions that grow in their gardens.

“No additives are in the process, or in the powders, the seasonings or anything,” said Holland, adding that they also grow microgreens.

And, they also make teas from the herbs.

“But for us, it’s a regenerative form," she said.

Even though seasoning is used to flavor foods all the time, many never think about how fresh they are.

“When I saw the difference between what I was buying from the store and what I was making from the garden, it’s a night and day difference,” she said.

Holland has been farming and gardening her whole life but got started making her product about three years ago.

“I took a farmer training program with Louisiana Central and got started that way,” she said. “And I wanted to make something that was fresh from the garden but shelf stable and seasoning seemed to be the way to go.”

Windy Willows Garden has a Facebook page and she is in the process of creating a Shopify page. Currently, the only market she sells her products at is the Cabrini Farmers Market held from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday in the St. Frances Cabrini Church parking lot at 2211 Texas Avenue.
